Hacienda Hotel Santo Domingo

A wonderful two days in a perfectly located hotel. It was quiet, clean, and the attention and service was fantastic. We chose to have dinner the evening we arrived since we would be just getting to town and figured it would be easier. Both of us were glad we made that choice. The owner sent me the menu a few days before we arrived. I asked if the main dish could be prepared without the jalapeño and the owner was very accommodating in having our evening meal changed just a little. The dinner was excellent, prepared fresh and with wonderful flavors. Dessert was amazing. Breakfast every morning poolside was so peaceful. We got to choose from five breakfast options. It included fresh fruit, fresh baked bread, fresh squeezed juice and good coffee. The pool was cleaned several times a day of flowers that drop from a tree. Cool, clear water made for a great afternoon swim after walking around town in the heat. Our afternoon siestas were uninterrupted. Our room had an outdoor shower (mosquito netting over the open shower kept insects out) and it was like being in a movie. Romantic, great water pressure and lots of hot water. The room was comfortable and had been thoughtfully designed. Harald makes excellent cocktails at the poolside bar and the prices are very reasonable. Thank you to all the staff who were all pleasant and kept the property so nice.

Highly recommendation for this Hacienda Hotel in Izamal, Yucatan! Everything in its right place, not fancy but authentic. Clean rooms, swimming pool, romantic tropic garden with many birds singing in the dawn. Located in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the center of Izamal (10' walk). And furthermore the very friendlich owners Harald and his wife Sonia, who manages the kitchen and provides the guests with very good food above all.

Best hotel we had on our 4 weeks trip. 12 comfortable rooms spread over a park landscape. Good beds. A quiet and charming retreat. Nice pool. Fresh Made breakfast. Great candlelight dinner. Save car parking. Highly recommended!

Beautiful grounds, creatively renovated hacienda property. At night, this place is magic with tropic palms and other beauties decked out in fairy lights. The pool calls you into its cool depths. Proprietors who have years of experience looking after the needs of their guests. Great meals. Who can ask for more?

We spent two nights in the Hacienda Hotel Santo Domingo. The setting was beautiful with simple but comfortable accommodation in separate cabins. They were spotlessly clean. Breakfast by the pool and dinner by the terrace were both of exceptional quality. All the staff were helpful and very accommodating. A magical place! Town is a short walk away.

This was the best place we stayed in our Mexico trip. The hotel is so gorgeous, the grounds, the pool, the dining areas. Our hosts were very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. We could easily walk into town and explore, and Izamal was an awesome little town! The romantic dinner was lovely as well and definitely worth it the night we got in.
